Soil Matters - Understanding and Preventing Soil Erosion in Agriculture

Interactive workshop for adults in German or English about soil erosion, soil protection, and healthy soil practices in agriulture.

This workshop's content relates to my German-language student workshop "Klima, Acker, Krise," with an added emphasis on EU regulations related to healthy soils and common food labels that adults can look out for in grocery stores, some of which emphasize soil health practices more than others.

Interactive workshop in German for school classes, grade levels 4 to 12, about the causes and consequences of soil erosion in agriculture, the ecological, economic, and social impacts of it on ecosystems, farming enterprises, and society, the role of climate change, and practical steps farmers take to prevent soil erosion.

Students work in groups on creative solutions to reducing soil erosion and maintain healthy soils.

I am offering this workshop for a small fee in collaboration with the Schülerakademie (student academy) of ProWissen Potsdam e.V., a non-profit organization connecting research institutions around Potsdam and Berlin.

Communicating with the media

This workshop is intended for scientists who want to improve their communication skills in media interviews. We learn how to structure messages to align with the needs and expectations of journalists and practice in group activities to create short yet meaningful messages about our own research using the inverted pyramid method and the Compass Message Box.
